Dr. Schaller has been practicing in the Philadelphia area for almost twenty years.

He has a Masters in Family Therapy degree (1992) from Hahnemann (now Drexel) University, and a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University (1999).

Additional Post-Graduate training includes the Ackerman institute for Family Therapy in New York, the Philadelphia Center for Psychoanalysis (Graduate of the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Program, 2003) and the Family and Play Therapy Center of Philadelphia (with Dottie Higgins Klein, LMFT/RPT). He has additional training and clinical experience working with problems of substance abuse and childhood sexual abuse, as well as expertise with foster care and adoption. As a member of the Physis organization, Dr. Schaller conducts Psychological Assessments and provides consultations for various Religious Denominations in the area.

Dr. Schaller is currently an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener. He is Past-President (2006-2008) of the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (PSPP) and is currently President of Section IV (Local Chapters) of Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of the American Psychological Association. He is also a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and a member of the Association for Play Therapy (APT). Dr. Schaller is a Candidate in Psychoanalysis at the Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia (IRPP).
